PBIS Expectations
McLeod Elementary Attendance & Behavior Policy
At McLeod Elementary, every day counts! Daily attendance is essential for academic success—each tardy, early checkout, or missed day is valuable instructional time. Our school-wide attendance goal is 95%. Students who maintain 95% or higher attendance each month will be invited to a special celebration!
A child is considered at risk for being chronically absent after 11 days, and at 18 absences, the school reserves the right to retain a student.
Behavior Policy (PBIS)
McLeod Elementary follows PBIS—Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, a proactive approach that teaches and rewards positive behavior. We focus on our core values: Positive & Respectful Culture, Excellence, and Growth Mindset.
Students are recognized bi-weekly and monthly for meeting expectations. Teachers use PBIS Behavior Calendars to communicate behavior daily—parents must sign each day.
Criteria for PBIS Celebrations (Mustang Celebrations) & Mustang Store:
🐾 95% or higher attendance for the month
🐾 No in-school or out-of-school suspensions
🐾 All work completed or on an academic improvement plan
🐾 PreK–K: No more than 5 yellows or 3 reds (students who hit/bite staff may not participate)

Together, we build Mustang Excellence through respect, excellence, and positive choices every day!
